Bouril Design Studio home designers have completed the first round of concept design for a home makeover for an early 1970′s split level home in the city of Madison. It includes a screen porch, new roofing and siding materials, weatherization and maintenance items, and additional windows.
The design architect Bob Bouril noted that, “The original home is probably one of the most unique homes that I have had the opportunity to work on. It is really dated in many ways but on the other hand it has such unconventional geometry that it offered us opportunities that you don’t normally find in an addition/remodel project. The client was very open minded to ideas and materials that one doesn’t normally associate with residential projects. We are looking at corrugated steel for the primary sloped roof backdrop and simple geometric Mondrian forms, colors and rhythm for the remainder of the composition. The project is being budgeted in multiple phases with various aspects of it to be built over several years.”
