The West End Urban Village will be an engaging participant to the City of Verona’s current neighborhood fabric. Our idea as planners is to create a pedestrian friendly enriched and enlivened public realm that is not overwhelmed by building scales or vehicular traffic. This sense of place allows The West End to become a new attractive asset to Verona. There is a shared interest among planners and residents in the creation, conservation, and enhancement of The West End’s particular character. By weaving together different architectural elements such as varying building styles, building heights, signage, and public/private domains, a sense of comfort, function, and attractive appearance is achieved.
