Greenwoods State Bank
Greenwoods State Bank – Rio, WI
Since 1883 Greenwoods State Bank has been independently serving Dane, Columbus, and Jefferson Counties providing the best of both worlds – big bank services and the personal touch of a community bank.
Now, as the Bank develops its growth plans, an important component was creating a prototypical building form to use for future branches. By shaping the overall building in the form of a large X this single design can be used again on a future site with a minimum of modification.
This 5,666 gross square foot facility with two drive up windows combines the needs of the financial institution while providing community benefits such as meeting facilities right off the banking lobby to be used by local groups during business hours and after hours.
This bank branch is prominently located on an elevated rocky site of a new development along the major east/west entry to the Rio area. Part of the design directive was to create a professional appearance and secure surroundings with a welcoming form. To this end, the comfortable lobby features a full fireplace, coffee and waiting area with 25 foot ceilings in a modern and inviting color palette.
