In 1988, Robert R. Bouril, AIA, founded Bouril Design Studio to offer clients an alternative to traditional architectural firms. He envisioned a studio that was accessible to all homeowners; a studio that offered a higher level of design and detail than what was being offered locally; a studio that provided small- to medium-scaled commercial architectural services with a personal touch; and finally, a studio that treated projects individually, without conforming to rigid designs or trendy styles.

In 2007, architects Jeff Maertz, AIA, and Kirk Keller, AIA, partnered with Robert Bouril to strengthen the studio’s portfolio and position as a leading Wisconsin architectural firm. Their leadership has helped widen Bouril Design Studio’s range of architectural and interior design services.

Over the last two decades, Bouril Design Studio has evolved: adding new services, new capabilities, new projects and people. But the studio’s original vision—of quality, personalized design—has never faltered.
