At Bouril Design Associates, our first meeting with you, the prospective client, serves as an important opportunity for mutual understanding. It's a chance for you to interview us, learn about our approach, and delve into the exciting journey of bringing your architectural dreams to life. One of the first questions we always get is, "what can I expect during the introduction meeting?"
Getting to Know Each Other
Our initial meetings can be conducted either in person at our West Madison office or through a convenient online video conference. During this session, you'll meet with a member of our team who will later align your project with the most qualified team member to take the lead. Despite individual roles, our collaborative office ensures shared knowledge, making us a formidable team. We'll begin by introducing our firm and values, followed by an overview of the four project phases: Pre-Design, Design, Construction Drawings, and Construction Administration. We'll transparently discuss our fee structure and address common questions about the value of hiring an architect.
Understanding Your Project
The latter part of the meeting is dedicated to understanding your vision. We'll inquire about your project's location, whether you've secured a lot, your timeline, and budget goals. Providing the project address beforehand, if possible, allows us to digitally familiarize ourselves with the site. We want to explore your stylistic preferences, aspirations, and identify the key priorities for your project.
Next Steps in the Process
For new construction projects, we'll schedule a pre-design meeting to delve into room-specific details. In some cases, an on-site meeting may be arranged to better understand the project's context. In remodels or additions, a site visit is the next step, involving two team members equipped with laser measurement tools to document existing conditions. Having a preexisting floor plan or a few photos aids in streamlining this process, ensuring accurate measurements from the start.
The Excitement and Responsibility of Building
Building a new home is a thrilling yet significant undertaking. Our mission as architects is to serve as your representative, ensuring your interests are at the forefront. We aim to make the process memorable and enjoyable as you entrust us with this major life milestone.
Leaving the Meeting with Confidence
As you depart from our introductory meeting, our goal is for you to feel confident that Bouril Design Associates is an invaluable asset to your project. We look forward to the opportunity to embark on this architectural journey with you and turn your vision into a reality.
